CHC / Attendance Allowance

Hi I’m not sure if anyone can advise me from their experience but my mum has been receiving CHC and in a nursing home for the past year with dementia however I was advised by someone that she could apply for Attendance Allowance this doesn’t sound right to me , any advice please

I looked up n.i direct, it's a government helpline that sets out a.a. when you go into care. I couldn't quite understand it but I think the answer is no, maybe you'll understand it better than me.

I typed in attendance allowance in a care home, it's not an easy site to navigate, it comes under residential and carehome benefits

my understanding is that if you live at home then you continue to receive AA but in a care home this would not happen unless you were self funding. If you receive CHC in a residential setting AA is not payable .
