Should I be worried?

Hi, I posted a few months ago on the general health board to no avail, but need some advice please.
Back in July (when I first posted) DS wacked his ankle and asked me to kiss it better which I did. DP said "Shin, not ankle". At first I thought he'd misunderstood which bit had been hurt, but he was looking at the right bit. I said , "No it's his ankle", at which point DP said "where's your shin then?". I pointed to it and he said "oh, like shin pads".
Today DH has just asked me which colours you mix to get orange.

Am I over-reacting to this? He's an intelligent bloke and I am certain he knows the difference between ankles and shins, and how to mix orange (he used to paint).

We are having building work done at the moment, and he hates his job so he is definitely under a certain amount of stress, but I'm really worrying about this being an indicator of something more serious.

How old is he for a start?

Dementia is not impossible but very, very unusual in people under 60

Depression and stress however are very common and can cause difficulty concentrating and memory lapses.

I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe try and get him to exercise, meditate or otherwise take time out and see if it resolves when his stress levels reduce

He's 54. Yes, thank you I think maybe he would benefit from some time out, I'll try and find a way of suggesting it.
