I was wondering if any of you gentlemen could give me info on the best kind of tickets for the Silverstone Grand Prix. Do any of you have an opinion on which terrace would be best?

I'm looking for a special gift for my hubbie.
TIA x

Nice pressie

If you mean the choice between Luffield or Copse, it depends on his preference speed or corners.

I have been at Copse, depending on where you can seen the start finish straight, wherever you are you are on the first corner which is where you have all the excitement after the start and they are fast, you also have sight of the pit exit lane.

I have never beeen at Luffield but here you have sight of the most technical corners with overtaking opportunities (not there is much overtaking on modern grand prix).

Take ear defenders or ear plugs - if you haven't been before they are loud, you will be deaf for three days without some sort of protection.

DH suggests you pay a bit more to get an under-cover area, rather than out in the open.

Yippee, thankyou so much for the info - thats exactly the sort of things I was looking for.....

now to my next question,
what about these restaurant places where you get breakfast, lunch, dinner and booze all day - worth while do you think or is it better to sit in the stands and get a burger for lunch?

Stands and a burger, if you want to drink all day go to the pub.

I like luffield or a bit further on round woodcote. Both give alot of view of track, woodcote you see them going into the pits.

There are options; we got a rather nice lunch from the Gourmet Meat Pie company (or something similar) when we went to the classic races last year...

And get your ear defenders at B&Q 'cos they sell at three times the price on the track.

I know a few people that have been to Silverstone (it's not far from here) - and all of them have said they're not going to bother going again as they could see more watching the TV .

In fact one of exH's colleagues stayed with us (he lived further away) and had paid for weekend tickets (the expensive ones - whatever they included) - he went on the Friday, he went Saturday morning..........Saturday afternoon he was back here watching it on the TV !
