Sorry, wasn't sure which topic to put this in

We currently have a Vauxhall Zafira, but when all 4 DC are in it there is no room for the buggy

So I am looking around for another 7 seater that might have boot space.

Are there any around?

TIA

8 seats and boot space

QueenBhannae · 08/09/2008 20:33

Ah yes, it was I with the humongous bump!

iliketosleep · 08/09/2008 22:21

Toyota previa and grand scenic look nice and roomy also, but are they as long as they look in the pics??

Just thinking of school runs and limited parking space!!

I have a peugeot 806, which has a decent amount of boot space when the rear seat is in use. my only gripe is that the central seats have lap belts, althoought i expect newer models don't have this problem.

My dad has a Sharan, and while it is a fab car, and the boot space on it is about the same, I prefer the way the rear doors on the 806 slide. much more pratical.

Our's is the same length as dh's mondeo.

MiffyUnderFoot · 09/09/2008 10:05

Toyota Previa or Estima(Imported version of previa)
Has plenty space for family and buggies.

Can even still get some shopping in boot with double buggy too.

sandyballs · 09/09/2008 10:11

Mitsubishi Grandis - loads of space, good looking car and lovely to drive.

We have just got a Touran.
Can fit 2 adults (front row - driver and passenger)
3 kids (middle row - normal back seats)
2 more kids (in boot, seats fold flat to floor or make two more seats with seatbelts etc)
Then..still room for McLaren Buggy in space at back.
(worth checking your own buggy fits though!)

marmadukescarlet · 22/09/2008 18:33

Whoever said a Q7 was joking, like a back to front tardis (looks bigger from the outside) virtually no decent bootspace once you get the back seats up.

I chose an XC90 onver the Q7 because of this.

My only issue with any of them, having had several different styles of cars, I need one where the seats just fold down - I cannot be arsed to remove them and cart them our when not needed.

I did try the new citroen/peugot one (same car, diff name and styling), cannot for the life of me remember its name thought the rear seats were a little too flimsy looking although good fuel compared to my beast.

WendyWeber · 22/09/2008 18:43

Previa, Grand Voyager, Grand Espace have the most (longest wheelbases presumably)

Previa ia the best by far but you can't get a new one (except an import)

largeginandtonic · 22/09/2008 18:47

Previa are fab and some are 8 seats! Huge boot space.

Miaou · 22/09/2008 18:53

We have a toyota previa (and four children, and a buggy ) and it's fab. Loads of space. Only downsides are, lap belts in the two middle seats, and you can't buy them new (not that that's an issue for us!!). It is quite long, will just fit in a car park parking space. I do the school run in it and manage fine, though I do avoid reverse parallel parking in it if I can.

Icanseethesea · 22/09/2008 19:05

We have an elderly Toyota Lucida (import Previa). 8 seats and reasonable boot space.

FeelingOld · 22/09/2008 19:53

I have a fiat ulysse.

I am a childminder and i fit in 2 babies, 4 school age kids, 1 double buggy, 1 single buggy, 2 raincovers, changing bag, all school bags and me

Twelvelegs · 22/09/2008 19:55

Do not buy a chrysler Grand Voyager, they are the most unsafe family car on the road.
We have a grand espace, I love it. You can turn the seats around and have any combination.....

NoblesseOblige · 22/09/2008 19:57

another vote for C4 grand picasso - dead easy to pop seats up and down and good leg room too.

(actually the seats are so easy to pop up and down i flipped one down on my hand. but aprt from that...)

soph28 · 22/09/2008 20:12

DO NOT buy a Galaxy- we got one in April 07 and had no end of problems with it- new gear box, new clutch, blow outs, new exhaust, new main gaskett (sp?) cylinder etc.- in all about £5000 worth of repairs in less than 18mths.

We part exchanged it for a Touran about 6 weeks ago- LOVE the Touran. Can fit 2 maxi cosi Tobis and a Maxi Cosi cabrio with base in the middle row. With one of the boot seats down you can fit loads in.

peonyflower · 01/10/2008 22:09

Have you considered a Toyota Land Cruiser. Loads of space albeit quite thirsty.

zebramama · 21/10/2008 16:09

We plumped for the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso.
Got a Jan07 model for £12k.
5 Seats with Huge Boot or 7 seats with small boot (enough for a pushchair or suitcase).
No problems with baby seats in the back row either.
Easy to drive - good visibility etc.
Economical & Band D for Tax (1.6 SX Diesel).
Good Safety Rating.
Couldn't recommend it more highly.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 21/10/2008 16:13

Mitsubishi Grandis?

ilove · 21/10/2008 16:18

Another here with 4 children and a multipla...I LOVE it and the boot is HUGE!

Viryanth · 12/11/2008 13:28

We looked at several before deciding on a Ford S-Max. Lots of room and great to drive.

ramonaquimby · 12/11/2008 13:30

also have s-max
room when all 7 seats are used for macclaren buggy in the boot and shopping and 2 scooters

ToughDaddy · 12/11/2008 20:57

Mercedes E Class has 5 seta + lots of boot space or 7 seats without much boot space so probably not what u are looking for but:

-you don't have to store seats
-doesn't look like a bread van

CatRace · 12/11/2008 21:05

VW Caravelle - I drive my DH's work van which is the same chassis. It's fine to drive, park etc. Their longevity is legendary too (engines good for 300K).
