CMS access to confidential data of other parent

After years of paying I recently leaned that the receiving parent (mother) has full visibility on my income as the Child maintenance service disclosed to her how they have calculated the child maintenance payments. I had a 1to1 with My HR department as my contract does not allow to disclose my financial details to anyone. I contacted the CMS but did not get an answer as the refused to comment on the topic.

has the CMS the right to share my financial income details with the receiving parent?

thanks in advance.

I think they disclose it routinely as part of the CSM claim. My husband pays csm and he gets an annual statement , I think a copy of it goes to his ex and it has his salary details for the previous year to show how they calculated the amount.

I am able to see my ex’s. I earn considerably more than him which is quite nice as he used to routinely tell me I’d never amount to anything.

Same 🤣 I don't want to be pleased about it but I can't help myself given how much of a shithead he was to me

This has always been the case. Of course we have to see how it is calculated
I guess if you want to keep in private the best thing would be to offer a sufficiently generous maintenance payment that the resident parent doesn't feel the need to go via CMS

Even if they couldn’t tell, surely it’s easy to work out based on percentages?

Your employer will not be able to enforce a contract term which is unlawful.
You have a legal obligation to supply the data and will not have a right to control how they use the data.
You can click through the various links from the child support act to see what the law allows.

And assuming that you earn enough to make any kind of financial investment eg car loan/house loan you would need to disclose the information to banks and financial planning staff.
If you wanted to sue your employer you would need to disclose it too.
So I would ask for the term to be removed or restricted nondisclosure to other employees.
