Hi there, Just looking to find the right place to live/commite to Waterloo and I'm just wondering is any of you can give me any feedback on how is commuting from South Wimbledon /Colliers Woods to Waterloo?

It looks like it should be a "nice" way to commute but I can't find anything about it...

Also did someone ever use the tool from Souther Western Railway to see how much free capacity is on the train during the different days/hours?

Thank you

Hello OP I have been commuting in the Northern Line from that area for years and it’s ok. You’d have to change at Kennington most mornings as most trains go on the bank branch. It’s quick though and mostly quite reliable and if you’re getting on at Colliers Wood or South Wimbledon you’ll always get a seat if you get on at the front of the train. It’s good for nights out in London too, especially as it runs all night at the weekend.

thanks for answering me... What about the commuting from Waterloo to Colliers wood/South Wimbledon?

Just looking to rent in Wimbledon but the rental market is very tight right now and I will probably need a backup plan...Colliers Wood/South Wimbledon for what it looks like offer one of the best commutes to Waterloo between the other options that I have.

Thank you

Northern line is great (oddly I used to hate it in the late nineties/millennium). Straight up and down to Waterloo - if you need to change at Kennington it is literally the other platform. Waterloo down will get busy in rush hour, same as anywhere else leaving zone 1. The carriages start to clear quite a bit by Balham usually though, for a seat.

If you go for South Wimbledon you get the option of walking to the mainline if any problems with the northern line. It’s good to have options imho. We live in between both and switch it up depending on where we are going and the time of day and any disruptions. Colliers Wood takes away those options.
