Hi,
I am 32 and need to learn how to drive straight away due to special circumstances. Decided to learn on an automatic, but need to then sell our VW Golf (currently used to run around london and school runs) to buy an automatic. 2 kids in back (4 year old and 2 year old) so need something practical, also not too small.

Can someone give me some advice? I know nothing about cars....

oh, happy to buy second hand, maybe £10-15k?

Thanks!

I posted this on CHAT but maybe will get more luck here.....

my friend passed her test in her 30s and went for an auto. She started off with a ford focus auot (she has two children too) and has found it easy to get to grips with. I also started off with a ford when I first started driving (manual though) but I always thinks fords are good first cars

Page,

Honda Jazz. Practical, nippy, economical, ultra reliable, good boot space, rear seats fold easily for large flat-load area, uncontraversial looks, no badge-related image problems.

Top notch.

The bloke in the Telegraph on a saturday highly rates the Fiat Panda as a car and I think you can get a four door too.

hi. we have a citroen c1 which my husband drives back and forth to work...its fab! £35 a year to tax, and cost for the both of us to insure fully comp for the year £130, and got £100 back on quidco!!!

its a brill car, 4 door, and fits 2 car seats easily in the back....great to park, nippy and economical, envioronmentally quite friendly, small, great to drive....honestly can't fault it........not sure if i comes in an auto tho......

SEAT Altea brill car, they do a dsg (auto) gear box, choice of engine sizes and if you want a larger boot they do an Altea XL (we have this one) Big enough to fit in all the crap that comes with kids but small enough to fit into parking spaces.
Audi and VW quality but not the same cost!!!
