Renting a bedsit

Hi all, I have a viewing tomorrow for a bedsit right next to my kids. I wanted to rent a one bedroom flat but I'm happy it's close to my kids .

Would there be any issues with claiming universal credit due to it being a bedsit and not a one bedroom flat?

I'm 39 and single.

Thanks

Hi mate.

I don't know. Can point you to a website for separated Dad's that might be able to help?

As long as you can prove you are paying rent - tenancy agreement or something similar. You should be able to claim the rent for the bedsit but not any included bills, so if utilities and council tax are included you'll not get that part and so the agreement would be better to show how much is rent and how much for the other combined bills

is it a self contained bedsit with your own bills or a room in a house?

Hi, thank you for the info. I will ask if bills are included.

It's a bedsit with shower and kitchen. The toilet must be shared as it wasn't in any of the photos

Thanks again!
