Hi all I'm new to this so please bear with me. I have been told to attend court because my ex wife is trying to take away my parental rights and make a variation to the CAO I had taken her to court for in 2017. I have had phone interviews with CAFCASS and I'm waiting for the section 7 report to be completed and sent to me. I need some guidance if anyone has been through this. Its putting a lot of strain on myself and my wife, not to mention my kids. (2 from my previous marriage, and 2 from my current marriage. Any help is really appreciated.

Only just joined and it looks like no one has answered this since it was posted. It is highly unlikely a court would sanction removing parental rights. It depends what you mean by that and what she is citing as the reason. Courts very much expect both parents to have rights and be involved. What are the circs? Next thing, if you need support when it goes to court have you considered getting a Mckenzie Friend to advise? They're far cheaper than a solicitor yet have all the training and knowledge for these sorts of cases. Certainly gives you peace of mind. If you can give a bit more background I might be able to help - have been through S7. In my experience CAFCASS is a pretty anti-male organisation who get paid handsomely to write reports that recommend further CAFCASS involvement for as long as they can milk it - but ultimately CAFCASS have no real power and courts want kids to have a full experience with both parents (and the grandparents). Don't stress, don't get upset, and make sure the kids know nothing of what is going on - the worst thing you can do is get them involved because if they get interviewed it will look bad if they repeat something negative they've heard you say. All the best.

I would second Donot's analysis. Have you actually done something as if not there's no chance of her succeeding.
