alloy wheels .........help in deepest doo dooo

just had a little accident with my husbands brand new sportline audi ,you know the one with ridiculousley low tyres and a really hard ride (sorry FIRM ride) , a lady swung her car out of an exit and to stop us collided i swung into the kerb ,except there was half a brick wedged up against the kerb and ive managed to scratch the alloy wheel ,is it possible to polish out a scratch from an alloy? or will i need to buy a new one

You can't really polish it out, but you can use paint-chip paint which you can pick up from Halfords - it has a little brush and you just clean, then paint over the chipped areas.

P.S. if it doesn't work, don't change your story - it sounds plausible to me.

i used to be like that on my alloys too but for now i have got another car with normal wheels on...i want alloy wheels!!

ok so give me the news ,how much for a new alloy ?? its going to be an unfeasibly scary amount isnt it .........

Did this but on a raised curb - bent the chasis though - told DH and to be honest he said as long as you and DCs ok.

If he says anything other than that you should throw a fit that he doesn't care about you at all as you have been dreading telling him and was really shaken up after the incident!

Personally I would park up and then deny all responsibility when he noticed.

Ratclare - goodluck - I empathise as I curbed my alloys yesterday (not avoiding anything - just parking too fast).

DP will give me a really hard time so I was also wondering about :

a) lying and saying that I was avoiding killing me and LO's from fast approaching white van. Daddster - would you believe it?

b) no mention and deny when it it noticed (carnoodles - I am leaning towards this option)

c) be honest (fine if marries to Twinkie's husband)

d) remove the scratches as per suggestion below

i rang him at work and once he had done his excessive sighing ,he did have the good grace to say well at least you are ok and not hurt . He reckons it will cost £150 so im off to check down the back of the sofa for spare cash !

ratclare - yes thats sounds about right as they are very expensive alloys - good luck

There are comapnies that refurbish and repair scratched Alloys so it may be worth doing a search on line for them.

I had a scratch done a few years ago by Pristine - it was £80
