Number 3 not eating

Firstly, let me introduce myself a little.
I am a father of three (two boys and a little girl), starting nice and young at 17.
My oldest is now 9, middle is 4, and my youngest turned one in August.

Now on to the issue.
My little girl (just turned one) is refusing to eat. Now, when I say refusing, I don't mean just some things - I mean everything.
The reason I am asking for advice is for the following reasons:

  1. My oldest ate and eats everything (except red onions).
  2. My middle was fussy young but has slowly grown to eat everything (except shellfish).

I have spoken to doctors about my little girl's eating but they are not too worried as she was a big girl at birth, and isn't small now.

To sum it all up; how on earth do I get her to eat?!
We've tried almost every food we can get hold of and nothing, except banana, and cereal, will interest her in the slightest.

Help please!!

Don’t stress about it. Just give banana and different types of cereal. Then put different things with it each day.
I’ve got a very fussy eater too who’s 7. I just don’t let it bother me too much. He eats limited food but will eat a lot of it if hungry. He also has a multi vitamin each day too.

Best not to make an issue out of it.
Relax. She will be fine in the long term.
Does she have milk? - Perhaps consider toddler formula milk, or vitamins to give a boost.
Have you tried setting up meals buffet style where the family put what they want on their own plates and letting her choose what she wants?
Let her feed herself, don't pressure her to eat.
She will eat if she is hungry, I'm sure.
Let her help herself from the meal table - and if she fills her plate but doesn't eat it, perhaps save it an hour and let her try again.
If she still doesn't eat - fine, milk or perhaps a smoothie full of vitamins before bed, then wait for breakfast. I promise she'll survive!

Could she be getting her back teeth through and have sore gums preventing her from eating?

  • maybe some calpol or neurofen before a meal time might help, or teething gel, or just serve cold soft foods.
I'd definitely promote the whole family having the same meal at the same time and making meal times as fun and relaxing as possible. Perhaps you could create a smiley face on her place with the food and make it into a bit of a game (just until she becomes more enthusiastic about eating again).

Good luck!
Most children go through phases of not eating much. The best way is to keep offering a variety of foods and not putting any pressure on her to eat if she doesn't want x
