I have put this on grans-net and it created quite a response so I want to know what the male view is?

I would like your thoughts on the idea of an over 50's club and if you like then please copy and paste the link below to vote for us.

www.virginmediabusiness.co.uk/pitch-to-rich/new-things/50-plus-social-network/

The idea is to start a members club with a weekly local venue open 10 am to 10pm and an internet forum for the over 50's.

I want to start this in my home town Camberley then expand it nationwide. If I get through the finals of the virgin business competion it would help with the funding for the initial start up so thanks in advance. Even if you do not vote I would like some feed-back as part of researching this idea so comments please!

You do know about The Friendship Groups that Age concern run which has groups in almost every city. It is for the Over 50's and organises weekly meetings( I think) with talks, holidays for couples and singles, and eating out groups etc etc.
it costs about a £1 or two to attend and extra if it involves a coach and entrance fee.
There are many locally run Friendship groups in this area, run privately and through Facebook.

Please don't feel offended, but at 54 I am fortunate enough to have plenty of friends.

I can see that you have good intentions though
