Fixing an extra number plate on the back of a bike carrier.....how?

We need a temporary fix as we are buying a towbar one soon

So if I buy one with holes drilled from Halfords can I use cable ties or something to attach them to the bikes

Or will I get into trouble

You can see the lights and it's for about 3/4 days?

Yes, thats fine as long as the number plate is clearly visible

lots of bike racks will have a space for a number plate... do check though that the bikes don't block the lights - it would be a very unusual car / rack / bike combination where you could rely on the original car lights (though there are some) and the police may well pull you over and you can be fined etc. - you probably should have a trailer board if there is nothing on the rack... My rack which goes on the tow bar has built in lights as well as a space for a spare numberplate...

The other thing to check is that the rack doesn't obscure the rear lights, including brake lights and indicator lights. Where my parents live is popular with mountain bikers and the police have a field day booking people for this.

I think we are retiring it (& maybe selling it) then getting a towbar one that can move between each car
