I would like some suggestions for fun reads, please!

I have a degree in Italian but I'm rusty as you like after ten plus years. But I'd really like to bring it back up to speed. With a young toddler to look after, formal studying is hard to fit in right now but I thought some light reading might be a good place to start?

I enjoy all types of books, but to begin with I was thinking along the lines of trashy page turners, particularly with a supernatural sort of angle. I've really enjoyed The Dresden Files and Rivers of London in English - is there an Italian equivalent? I know I could get translations but I'd really like something totally new to give me to keep going - just to find out what happens next!

Grazie mille 🇮🇹

I'll join you in waiting for answers, if I may. Smile

I always go back to Buzzati, Calvino, Eco and Fruttero + Lucentini and to translations into Italian.
I have recently discovered a You Tuber who has posted the complete Maigret series (Bruno Cramer) in Italian. I was so thrilled to discover that I haven't lost everything (20+ years - before the internet and before amazon).
Duolingo helps with voabulary.

I just read the English translation of a book by Michele Giuttiari which was quite good. He is apparently a bestselling Italian crime writer, if you like that sort of thing.
