Loved it so much and am bereft that I now have no book to read. Did a search on Amazon but nothing caught my eye. Any recommendations gratefully received.

Try Cloud Atlas. It has a similar oddness and is a good read. Still not sure quite what I think of it, but I did enjoy the story (stories) that are part of it.

I loved it too. What about The Laments or The Death and Life of Charlie St Cloud?

I loved it too. Have you read any Wally Lamb books one is She's come undone and I can't remeber the other but they were both great

I agree about Cloud Atlas - also recommended is Number 9 Dream also by David Mitchell.

I'm just the same I feel bereft when I finish a book I enjoyed. I loved the Time travellers wife as it really pulled you close to the characters and thier story. It was very original too which I enjoyed.

I felt the same after finishing the His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pulman: The Norhtern Lights, The Subtle KNife and The Amber Spyglass. Kids books ostensibly but fabulous for adults to read too - really gets you thinking.

Have you read "The Virgin Blue" by Tracey Chevalier (Girl with a Pearl Earring lady)?

Cross-Stitch (Outlander) is entertaining but not sure i'd recommend starting the entire series...
