For me, no one beats Richard Pryor here
and Bill Hicks

Oh Paul Merton on Just a Minute everytime. Pure genius.

edam · 03/04/2008 16:46

Agree with Bill Hicks, sadly missed. And Linda Smith, ditto.

Bill Bailey makes me laugh, a lot. And anyone from I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue or Just a Minute.

No1ErmaBombeckfan · 03/04/2008 16:48

Spike Milligan

And Erma Bombeck of course!!!

LarryVeestAdamAntSpawnChorus · 03/04/2008 16:49

Bill Bailey is great!

Niecie · 03/04/2008 16:50

Mine change over time.

At the moment it is Dara O'Briain(sp). Eddie Izzard is always good.

Agree with Bill Bailey too.

Drusilla · 03/04/2008 16:51

Bill Bailey, I snigger to myself every time I think of him looking like a wizard in a call centre

fiodyl · 03/04/2008 16:51

Noel Fielding-The Mighty Boosh

MissingMyHeels · 03/04/2008 16:51

Steve Coogan - just booked tickets to see him in November. Alan Partridge is one of my favourite things ever.

More recently I adore Gavin & Stacey, the whole cast and premise for the show is excellent and second Bill Bailey, very funny.

Drusilla · 03/04/2008 16:52

Oh yes, and definitely Eddie Izzard - went to see one of his shows a few years ago and he was fab. Cannot think of anyone else who could do a routine that involves horses playing canesta

LarryVeestAdamAntSpawnChorus · 03/04/2008 16:53

Stephen Fry is also incredibly witty.

Used to love Alan Davies (he seems less funny on QI).

The Mighty Boosh is fantastic (I've only just discovered it!)

slayerette · 03/04/2008 16:54

No-one is funnier than Eddie Izzard

He makes me cry with laughter. So clever with his comedy.

ExtraFancy · 03/04/2008 16:56

The Mighty Boosh
Gavin & Stacey
Nighty Night
Bill Bailey - definitely!

mosschops30 · 03/04/2008 17:00

Peter Kay
Billy Connolly
Eddie Izzard
Gavin and Stacey

Used to like Ricky Gervais but then I saw him late one night making jokes about disabled people and I just thought 'youre not funny youre a complete wanker' I cant even look at him now on tv, he makes me want to turn off

mrsruffallo · 03/04/2008 17:00

Agree, Bill Hicks is sadly missed.

DD and I have been watching the box set of Some Mothers do 'ave em , can't believe how much I'm enjoying it, and DD finds the slapstick humour hilarious.

For me it's Russell Brand
Alan Carr
Gavin and Stacy

Also used to love The Mary Whitehouse Experience.

BecauseImWorthIt · 03/04/2008 23:15

Bill Bailey is fab.

Off to see Sean Lock soon.

Maidamess · 03/04/2008 23:15

I love The good Life. I love League of Gentlemen, especially 'Legs Akimbo'

I really laugh at Harry Hill's TV Burp.

And I watched dara O Brien live and he was a scream. And strangely attractive

anorak · 03/04/2008 23:26

My favourite is The Young Ones, I love Ben Elton and anything he writes makes me laugh, Rik Mayall is sublime.

Peter Kay
Spike Milligan
Monty Python
Coupling - superb writing.
Black Books - hilarious.
Little Britain
Mitchell and Webb
Police Squad/Naked Gun/anything Leslie Nielson
The Simpsons
Men Behaving Badly
Billy Connolly
Tony Hawks
Jo Brand
Goodness Gracious Me
Rowland Rivron
Steve Coogan
Dave Allan
Rowan Atkinson
Woody Allen
Mike Myers
Harry Hill
Bob Mills
Stella Street
Frasier

been getting into a couple of US comics since moving to Bermuda. Look out for:

Larry the Cable Guy
Jeff Foxworthy

they are well worth a watch and very gentle and inoffensive too, a la Peter Kay.
