Anyone seen WICKED or been to the Apollo Victoria London - seating question!

DD wants to see this, and I want to give her an exam result treat.

For £50 I can get 2 tickets (kidsweek deal) but they are in stalls row ZD (2 rows from the VERY back). Or I spend £120 and get 2nd row circle or row J of stalls.

Anyone know how good or bad the view is at the back??

Is the show any good???

If it is the dress circle I would be inclined to go for that, Dh and I went and we had a great view, (we sat in row A though) but Im sure you don't need to spend £120. Me and Dh went and I think we only paid £25-30 each.

The £50 seats would probably be OK, however if you wanted a bargain.
If you are up for a risk they may have day seats it certainly wasn't sold out when we went.
It was very good BTW

Actually, just got row J circle for Kidsweek!! £50 for the 2. Going tomorrow. Wahay!

there's a website called something like theatre monkey which gives really detailed commentary on the seating in London theatres - at a seat row/number level. Sorry I can't remember the exact name but if you google it I'm sure you'll find it.

i took my dcs aged 11, 8 and 7 when we were in london and we all loved it! ( I started silently weeping just before the interval...) you'll have a lovely time, I'm sure.

We all loved it as well. i think we were row N in stalls, which were good seats. DD 9 was obsessed with it for ages afterwards.

Buy the sound track it is superb!!! We play it all the time. 2nd row of the circle are excellent seats. Defying gravity is spectacular from there! I don't know about the back of the stalls but the back of the circle seemed to be miles from the stage.
Enjoy the show!!!

We saw it in preview with Idena Menzal, she didn't fly in defying gravity but it was still amazing, she had such an powerful presence.

we had the soundtrack for weeks before we saw it - i played it in the car every day so the children knew the songs - but seeing them live surpassed the CD by far.

i want them to make the film - and i need idina in the elphabah role. i'd quite like 'them' to make the non-musical 'wicked' as well - I'm just an elphabah geek.

It was fab! DD already has the Soundtrack but I have never heard it! (She used it to revise by, so must have been good!)

We were on edge of row J of circle and had a complete view. Defying Gravity was amazing!! Loved to whole set. It was a very clever show, much better than I expected.

Definately. Have been humming "Defying Gravity" all day

The first few minutes I thought "This is OK but NOT Les Mis etc quality, but after say 15mins I was hooked.

thers a beautiful book, btw, called ' the grimmerie' which tells how they casted the original broadway production - goes into scripting/songwriting/costuming etc. it's a lovely hardback book with a lot of lovely asides in it - the letters from people who have seen the production at the back of the book are lovely as well. it's about £25 i think ( cheaper on amazon)
