I don't know if anyone else does this, but I am constantly adapting songs for my ds and life in general. This morning we had 2 songs...

BOGEY BEEBIES (to the tune of Boogy Beebies) when ds had a really snotty nose
POODLE POO (to the tune of Doodle Doo) when he had done a particularly smelly one

Sometimes we adapt nursery rhymes or even make up words to classic tunes. I can't think of anymore at the moment as they usually spontaneous, but wondered about others' songs.

We have had a phase of DD wanting to be fed, and having a different song for each mouthful on the topic she announces... it definately gets the brain working. Cauliflower is "white clouds" so "White clouds of dinner" (white cliffs of dover) is the one that springs to mind right now.

Dinner is the easiest topic.... "Dinner dinner dinner dinner BATMAN!!!!!!!!!"

Love the dinner one! No need to be embarrassed...great imagination.

when my dad was taking his ads we would all sing 'medication woohoo medication, medication is what you need' to the record breakers theme tune. i am sure we really helped him

I'm like you Ellie I adapt loads of songs with silly words.

i always sing 'give peas a chance' when serving up peas.

if i remember any others i'll add them later.

Not so much a song...but Andy Millman's catchphrase in his Extras TV Show "Is he having a laugh" has become....

Is he having a bath?

I have been known to do a 'let's all do what mum says' rendition of sid's one from cbeebies - I find that bursting into song saves me from getting all stressed and shouty.

EllieChocolateOrange · 21/11/2006 19:44

oh yes, 'let's all do what mum says, mum says, mum says...'

i don't know the one about strawberry jam! i sing 'my boy ollypop - you make my heart go giddy-up' to my little oliver

iwouldloveadollypleaseSanta · 21/11/2006 19:58

we have 'when xxx went to the house of the bears' and various others - she just loves to hear her own name!

I am forever singing variations of "the wheels on the bus", while wending my way through London traffic, on the bike, with two kids.

Well, it's not like a rousing chorus of "the pig on the bike goes oink oink oink" is going to get me any more attention.
