Moaned at for drooling at Corolainus (Tom Hiddleston)

Not ashamed to admit it but i've got a serious crush on Tom Hiddleston (Loki in Thor), he is being a luvvie at the moment and is on stage doing a shakespeare play called Corolainus, and it was live linked to cinemas on Thursday where me and the bestie went to see it as she shares my obsession... anyway we were the only 2 'young' people there, everyone being at least 60 and there because its theatre and shakespeare, NOT because a VERY HOT 6ft2 blonde bloke strips topless and has a shower live on stage.... anyway turns out we both had let out inadvertant sighs/moans when this happened, and the old farts sitting next to us complained at the end of the showing! Well i'm sorry but i'm 33 yrs old and a healthy imagination, so tough titty you old bat!

I think the likelihood of your moans being "inadvertent" is small. You knew what you were doing. I am 38 and would have been pissed off with you, so nothing to do with being old.

FuckingWankwings · 03/02/2014 11:38

I have a Tom crush too, am under 40 and saw the cinema showing of Coriolanus. I managed to refrain from sighing/moaning at all times. It's not that hard. If your only reason for going was to watch the (very short and not at all sexy/titillating) shower scene then I have little sympathy for you.

He's not being a luvvie, by the way, he's doing his job. He did some fab Shakespeare work on stage long before he became a screen star. Good on him for wanting to continue even though he's now better known for big screen roles.

Shallishanti · 03/02/2014 11:40

really?
did you understand what was happening in the 'shower'?

AMumInScotland · 03/02/2014 11:49

I'm betting it was a lot more than a single 'inadvertent' sigh/moan. Admit it, you were making a big teenage fuss about seeing a bit of flesh, and the grown-ups around you who had paid good money to watch Shakespeare found it adolescent at best.

Anjou · 05/07/2014 07:28

It sounds as though you & your 'bestie' we're acting like 12 year olds, to be honest. Your attitude to fellow audience members ("tough titty, you old bat!" - charming) who were present to watch a "luvvie" in "a Shakespeare play called Coriolanus" is juvenile in the extreme. I'd've been annoyed with you too. I'm 37 if that helps you judge whether I'm being an old bat. HTH.

Farahilda · 05/07/2014 07:34

"Inadvertent" ?

If you cannot yet control yourself when there's a bit of nudity, then you are not yet ready to attend events where considerate conduct from audiences is the norm.

I'd be just as pissed off with that sort of moaning in any film. And think it's particularly off given the violent rape themes in this one.

Farahilda · 05/07/2014 07:40

Oh hell - ignore my last sentence. I've got my Shakespeare in a twist, sorry). But I hope the mistake shows I am not a wizened old Shakespeare bat.

OP: what did you think of the character of Corionlanus?

CuttedUpPear · 05/07/2014 07:50

There's a topic called Culture Vultures? Shock

How did I not know this?Confused Grin

LittleBearPad · 05/07/2014 07:58

Do grow up.

You're 33 not 15.

Given he was in several previous Shakespeare plays and the Hollow Crown on TV he's not being a luvvie. He's an actor.

MsAmerica · 22/07/2014 18:38

I've just seen him in the television Henry IV-V plays, and, crushes aside, he's a phenomenal actor.
