Ds has been listening to a lot of Simon and Garfunkel lately, so today we had

"Just a come on from the horse on seventh avenue"

which I think is a great improvement on the original, in fact

not really a misheard kyric but i used to teach in sunday school and for the lords prayer the kids would say "Our father, who art in heaven Harold be thy name..."

and also "thanks Peter god"

I thought the Beatles 'Day Tripper' was 'Gay Stripper' until I was about 23!!!

My sister used to be into John Lennon as a teenager and there's a song that goes

"One thing you can't hide
Is when you're crippled inside"

For years we thought it was

"One thing you can't hide
Is when you triple in size"

i do this all the time.
i mis hear the lyrics but then even when i work out what they are meant to be i still sing the ones i thought of as they are funnier.

rachel stevens was the best...that one that goes ..."dont negotiate with love..." well i heard that as ...."dont eat goat shit for love"
when i told my friends they were in hysterics.

the latest is Nelly furtado - Maneater....the bit at the end of the chorus. apparently she is saying "....for my love.." but i just hear "...ompah loomp"

Madonna - La Isla Bonita - as well as the "eyes like potatoes" I swear it sounds like "Last night I dreamt of some dago" rather than San Pedro

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody - "Beelzebub has a devil of a sideboard"

saintgeorge - I still haven't got it!

Brilliant thread, PMSL.

What are the real words to "Grim Poodle basher"??

We used to sing Killer Queen's "Gun powder, gellatine" as "Cut by the cheddar cheese".

fisil · 10/07/2006 19:48

Brim full of Asha. Makes as much sense as grim poodle basher to me!

i have been rolling up reading some of these...to the point where i had to ring my mum and read her some.....she is now off to the toilet as she is PHSL.

These are brilliant.
I used to hear "two worlds collided" in INXS - Never tear us apart as "to waltz delighted"
And my brother used to sing Stoke on Trent to Duran Duran's Girls on Film.
My favourite though, was Elton John ; I wanna Kinder Surprise - Sir Elton apparently wanted to "Kiss the Bride" though in retrospect that's doubtful.
