northerner - very cold and quite old thanks

paolosgirl · 12/12/2005 20:46

Ney - they are of the moment, cheap manufactured pop, but take themselves a bit too seriously. I wonder if they will be around in a years time? Miaow...

slug · 13/12/2005 11:32

Purely on the basis of their terrible use of the English language (I wanna stay witchu forever) I am totally on the side of SantaClausFrou.

OComeOliveFaithfOil · 13/12/2005 11:40

gaggle of brasses the lot of them

nailpolish · 13/12/2005 11:42

under close inspection they are actually very haggered

on totp they looked 25 yrs older than they do in the video

Earlybird · 13/12/2005 11:44

Won't be buying their singles/albums for dd, but have a grudging admiration for them. They look amazing with great bodies/clothes/hair/makeup, do sexy/interesting choreopgraphed dance routines, and the lead girl can really sing. If they're a completely manufactured band, at least they seem to have been manufactured well.

harpsiheraldangelssing · 13/12/2005 11:47

god the lyrics though
I told dh I thought they were very unsisterly which he found highly amusing
tho I must say they make me come over all unsisterly myself

PeachyPlumFairy · 13/12/2005 12:07

Definitely a Nay

Dh and I were laughing at the witchu bit in the car, glad it's not just us.

Earlybird · 13/12/2005 12:10

Where are they from? Wonder if the "witchu" is American....

JESSnutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire · 13/12/2005 12:12

Total cack. Was considering starting a thread to vent about them actually. Grrrr..

Where the hell are they from? Because if they are from anywhere but the ghettos of the US, what the bloody hell is all the 'Stick WITCHU' businss all about??! Witchu?! WITCHU???! It sounds totally shit and bugs the hell out of me almost as much as Chris-whiney -can't-hold-a-tune-Martin.. ..the puke making Sugarbabes and the the biggest morons of all the The Black-Eyed Peas.

I think I should just keep about from modern pop 'culture' (snort)!

JESSnutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire · 13/12/2005 12:12

Oh wow! Great minds!!!! I was typing that (slowly.. one handed.. drinking coffee) when you were already discussing the same thing!

bosscatsroastingonanopenfire · 13/12/2005 12:14

doncha wish your gurrrlfriend was hot like me
doncha
doncha
doncha

ney ney ney ney ney

welshboris · 13/12/2005 12:14

Love them but I am 23......

Earlybird · 13/12/2005 12:15

Oooohhhh Jess - a bit overwrought, dontcha think? You sound like an old fogey....

JESSnutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire · 13/12/2005 12:23

Earlybird, yep.. I am definitely overwrought.. without a doubt.. and clearly an old fogey to boot! I don't feel it is unreasonable to require form a song, a tune, some decent lyrics.. AND some meaning.. some sense of some kind. Those that fall short of that.. (and there are so many!), tend to provoke my overwrought rantings. Thank God for MN.. or else I would implode!!

walkinginawelshmumwonderland · 13/12/2005 12:26

They also don't sing 'witchu' consistently throughout. The lead singer reverts to 'with you' at some points. I don't think it's anything to do with the poor pussycats - they're being packaged up ready for the States, hence the excoriating title.

Frostythesurfmum · 13/12/2005 12:27

I've asked Father Christmas for their CD and I'm 43!

However, I did find myself asking dsd "what's with this "witchu" thing, why can't they speak properly?".

Mercy · 13/12/2005 12:28

Another (real) old fogey here. I only looked at this thread because I thought it should have been under 'Products' and was hoping it might be a goood xmas prestnt for dd!

Anyway, the answer is nay, nay and thrice nay

crunchie · 13/12/2005 12:28

Pointless IMHO

JESSnutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire · 13/12/2005 12:31

POOR pussycats my arse!! They could refuse to sing such tripe! 'With you' (consistently throughout) would improve the song 300%!!

walkinginawelshmumwonderland · 13/12/2005 12:36

Poor little pussycats probably don't have any say in what they sing, they'll have signed their lives away for a wardrobe, a stylist and the chance to make it in the big city away from their mummy cats and their safe warm baskets.....
