Which CDs would go straight on to Ebay if you were given them?

In my case, Katherine Jenkins, Katie Melua, Jamie Cullum, Il Divo, any 'classical-pop crossover'.

Should anybody give me the 'Andrew Lloyd Webber Classics on the Pan Pipes' CD I spotted in MVC the other day, though, I might just have to keep it as a potential disciplinary tool for the dds.

Which CDs would go in your bargain bucket?

agreed with Antony (in Guardian Guide couple of weeks ago) that Song to the Sirens, by This Mortal Coil is one of the greatest recordings of the 20th cent

MARINAtivityPlay · 01/12/2005 16:16

Sigh, 4AD and This Mortal Coil. That takes me back bundle.

doormat · 01/12/2005 16:33

anything that is not ac/dc, nirvana, metallica and other heavy rock stuff

harpsiheraldangelssing · 01/12/2005 16:35

wessexgirl I went onto Amazon the other day and it recommended me Il Divo AND Jamie Cullum AND Katherine bloody Jenkins
suddenly death seemed to lose its sting
they were presents OK?

wessexgirl · 05/12/2005 13:20

, I believe you, harpsi...

Amazon think I'm mad for Harry Potter, McFly and Foster & Allen for the same reason...

Foster and Allen!!! I can't believe I even bought that as a present.

wessexgirl, wetting myself over pan pipe version of Lloyd Webber!

i would be down to Age Concern sharpish with any musicals (Shwbizz??? Jeeez....no thanks!!)Celine Dion or other diva type stuff (I mean wtf ever bought anything by Maria Carey??)

Boy band crap..goes without saying-straight out the door.

Nailpolish, agreed, everything Elton John has done after ooh 1980 is completely shit, but his early albiums are absolutely fantastic andf have been plundered for inspiration by your presious Robbei on many occasions.

I refer you to
Tumbleweed Connection
Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy
Rock of the Westies

I have been listening to them since I was tiny (courtesy of parents) and at 38,still play them endlessly.

moondog · 05/12/2005 18:01

Oh come on!!
This thread makes me laugh. More please!

ohKARMAallyefaithfulMOTHER · 05/12/2005 20:00

Bundle, totally agree with you about Song to the Siren. I love Elizabeth Fraser's voice, only wish I could deciper the bloody lyrics!
(scuttles off to play aforementioned song)

moondog · 05/12/2005 22:13

C'mon y'all!

CheekymonkeysGreatestHits · 05/12/2005 22:27

The Greatest Hits of Foster & Allen
The Greatest Hits of Daniel O'Donnell
Michael Ball
Micheal Buble
Katherine Jenkins (I just feel like I want to strangle her)

moondog · 05/12/2005 22:32

Buble....bloody silly name that.

CheekymonkeysGreatestHits · 05/12/2005 22:48

Every bloody Christmas we are inflicted with Greatest Hits albums by Foster & Allen, Cliff Richard etc. Are these the sort of presents people give/receive? I think I would rather receive a fibre optic poinsetta plant

lanismum · 05/12/2005 23:20

mariah careys greatest hits, i would have to hurt the person that gave me that awfulness [GRIN]

lanismum · 05/12/2005 23:21

i meant

wessexgirl · 06/12/2005 12:01

Who remembers the advert for Michael Buble's first album which went..."Don't forget the way to say...BOOBLAY!"? I've called him Michael Bubble ever since.

Moondog, I was wetting myself too....IN FEAR!

Just a question, but now that Aled Jones doesn't have that gorgeous choirboy warble, why is he still making records?
