Personally am loving it, esp the comedies, was gutted when I realised that last night's "Taming of the Shrew" was almost over, it seemed like I had only been watching for two minutes. Has made me want to dust off the originals.

What did anyone else think?

I didn't see last night's but loved the first two

LAst night was the first I caught, it was fantastic! Just thought the whole thing was well done, interestingly written, and not only did it keep true to the original threads of Shakespeare's version, it was an intresting take on modern relationships too.

Also damned funny and a decent romance too.

PPF, so loved it, esp the chemistry between the two main characters, and how the wittiness of the original was echoed in this version, and (sorry not very cultural) Phwoaar Rufus Sewell, even in high heeled boots!!

I didn't manage to watch it on Sunday as dh was watching Top Gear - grrrrr. I loved Much Ado About Nothing, brilliant acting from all the leads - but thought the Othello one a bit heavy - as I guess it's supposed to be. Am looking forward to watching Taming of the Shrew when I get a minute ...

I saw Much Ado and Macbeth - but I missed Taming of the Shrew - Damn forgot it was on! I've really enjoyed them in the same way I also enjoyed seeing the updated Canterbury Tales when theywere on. I htihk its a great way to introduce a new audience to some great stroytelling - and of for those of us who already know Shakespeare something to enjoy on TV for a change instead of being stuck watching z-list celebrities eating worms...

I have to say the reworking of Romeo and Juliet (combined with a good Teacher last year at college) was one of the things that mae me fall in love with William Shakespeare's work.

I've actually enjoyed ST in some things, but not last night. Shame really.

Last night was my favourite so far, thought it was v funny. And agree about Rufus Sewell - yum yum!

I thought they were rubbish sorry. I don't see the point in doing 'Shakespeare' if you don't have the verse. The stories are generally the weakest element. The sonnets thing on BBC$ was crap too. Awful casting and writing, except the actual sonnet, of course.
