hi every one

god where do i start........

does any one or has anyone heard of Screendaily? or of their back end data dept ?

i dont know of them never heard of them But a woman called "Ava" contacted me via whatsapp. im currently working part time but looking for full time work.

i asked her about the role and what the role was called .she couldnt answer me. thats when I should have said f"""k off. But no, my wandering mind got hooked in and carried on. She sent me a programme via whatsapp to view film posters and give a rating .this sounded too good to be true, i did it, The system told me I had made £28 and to download my earnings to on online app revolut or monzo i did that went to Tescos to see if the card worked and it did .... the money worked! You can imagine my surprise thought "this is easy.......

this all happened on thurs evening, Que Friday I was busy. i started doing this job built up funds communicating with "Ava" throughout .Then I was linked to customer services,

This is where I stupidly got caught

Saturday, I was told to go through the posters, then came to a stop and was told to contact customer services. i turned to "Ava," who then said You have no balance, you need to make a deposit to keep your earnings.

you can see where this is going ,,,,

3 transactions later £70,£252.£569 .i realise it's not right . i i currently have 3089 sitting in an account that's "mine," but I need to "deposit " 1,134 to get it and complete my last task

All of these transactions I made from my bank to online apps to other countries. Bloody ell I'm writing this with tears in my eyes cause seeing it on screen realising how stupid ive been. Lucky im not broke,b ut what upset me is that I used my son's savings (which I've borrowed back from my mom so he's now all good

I got friendly with some of these people .on a telegram group (clearly all bots), all saying the same .but what's biting at me is I spoke to this woman, actually spoke so she exists, just don't believe she is Ava

i have currently spoke to the bank to report the scam and see where I get.im hoping against hope i will get my money back, but that's looking doubtful.Because they are online apps my bank was brilliant. i was in tears and they were very sympathetic.

im angry cause im not the type to be fooled.but i dont want to give up on getting my money back. thats a lot for me to loose, i also feel now i cant be trusted .my partner doesnt know God forbid ill be out the door,.my only concern now is i took out a credit card to pay this balance ,but immediately cancelled it .however ,it may still be on its way.so im racing to the door when postie arrives, so I can destroy it!

they offered commision ,bonuses etc

God im stupid!!

anyhow please everyone be careful. I just wanted to rant Bu if anyone has hear of this Scheme (or scam) let me know ,ive tried googling but no joy .

Well done for sharing your experience so hopefully it will make others more vigilant and question things earlier. Try not to beat yourself up too much, scammers are becoming more devious and clever.

This.

Scammers are getting more and more sophisticated and keep refining them to catch people out. They prey on people's vulnerabilities and hopes- it's not your fault, its theirs.

Chin up, love Flowers

The BBC ran an article on this exact scam around february time. Unfortunately, my own job situation means I’m now in China and can’t link the article for you as the BBC is blocked here. Hopefully someone else can find it.

what utter cunts - i fucking hate people like this, they don't give a shit they are ruining peoples lives!

I like to get the ones on the phone, string them on a bit, and then blow a whistle down the line at them - I hope they live in pain for the rest of their lives!

RobinEllacotStrike · 15/09/2025 15:50

I do get alot of calls & WhatAp messages about "we've got a job for you". I guess its the same people/scam. They must be targeting so many numbers.

Fernticket · 03/11/2025 11:39

Don't be ashamed OP. It's not you it's them. Scammers these days are so sophisticated that the most savvy amongst us can still be taken in. Report them to action fraud.

Thank you for raising awareness by sharing your story, you are not stupid, these people play on our cognitive biases. The only stupid people are the people who think it couldn't happen to them.
The best advice I have heard, is to 'tell 2 and take 5'
if you are communicating with anyone new about anything, tell two people in real life (this means people in your life can question as they won't have been groomed by the scammers) (if you won't tell anyone, this should be an alarm bell that you know something is not right in your gut) and to take 5 (leave it a few hours, or a day, or a week before making any transaction - gives you time for slow thinking to kick in and protect yourself) (The rush is artificial and won't be there for legitimate business).

Lookinginthelibrary · 03/11/2025 11:50

Lots of the scammers themselves are being forced to do it too
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-and-us-take-joint-action-to-disrupt-major-online-fraud-network
Scam centres in Cambodia, Myanmar and across the region use fake job adverts to attract foreign nationals to disused casinos or purpose-built compounds, where they are forced to carry out online fraud under threat of torture. Scams often involve building online relationships to convince targets to ‘invest’ increasingly large sums of money into fraudulent cryptocurrency investment schemes. The proceeds are then laundered using a sophisticated financial ecosystem that includes seemingly legitimate front businesses and online gambling platforms.

UK and US take joint action to disrupt major online fraud network

Alongside the US Government, the UK has today sanctioned a network that operates illegal scam centres across Southeast Asia.

@Tommysmom I’m sorry this happened and thank goodness the money you lost wasn’t critical. Thank you for sharing, it’s a timely reminder for everyone especially in the run up to Christmas where people may feel more desperate for additional income. Please don’t beat yourself up about this and jot it down as a lesson learned which it sounds you have done 💛

LuckyCat334 · 01/01/2026 13:53

As others said, don't feel bad about yourself. Anyone can get caught out by these scammers. Hope you're OK.
