My self and my partner was reported of the neighbour for arguing (rightly so) and police attended the property. He was taken away to his own house, no arrest even though we explained it was just a domestic. I have two children but they was not at the property at the time. Should I expect any repercussions from this police visit?

are such bad arguments that Police get involved normal for you and your partner?
I am afraid I do not know the answer to your question, I know that sometimes if a child is presented at hospital with injuries, Social Services do get involved in case it was deliberate not an accident.
whether they are involved or not sounds like you need to do work on your relationship or finish it

It must have been quite bad if you yourself believe it was right for your neighbour to call the police?

I don't know, but in the nicest way I hope there is. Not saying you did anything wrong (kids not there), but there'll be situations where there is something more and social workers would be slammed for not attending. Do the police know you have children? Id imagine if they do it'll be taken further and closed off

Usually when police are called out and children are involved in the relationship then social services are informed

Assuming you are in England, the police have an obligation to send a notification to social services even if the children were not present. Social services then decide whether they think an assessment is needed depending on whether this is the first report, how serious the incident was, age of the children etc. It’s likely they will want to speak to you, this could be by phone or by coming to the house
