Urgent: police help domestic abuse

kalsgirl237 · 08/05/2025 20:33

Hi I’m needing urgent help, my ex partner has been stalking me and he was also very abusive I have previously reported this. I feared he has put a tracker in my car since he knew where I was yesterday and reported this to the police in addition to this he’s obtained cctv/recordings of me in places and sent them to my family
he was arrested today and has been released as there was no sufficient evidence
I’m very stressed and don’t understand how it was not taken seriously
at the point of officers attending my
property before the arrest when they took statements, I said I wanted to press charges and share evidence
im super disappointed and unsure where to go for help

Bumping for you

Have you done another risk assessment with them? Have they offered an IDVA or a ISA (dependant domestic violence advocate or independent stalking advocate?)
sah yes to victims first.
would you consider going to a refuge for a few days?
policing can take time, focus keeping yourself safe and let them start to put things together.
get the non mol

Your safety is paramount at this point. Call domestic abuse helpline on 08082000247 it is free, if you prefer they also have web chat. They can support you with refuge.
I work for women’s aid, please do not be afraid of asking for support. You will be in safe hands.

If they have decided there was insufficient evidence to proceed it does not mean they did not take it seriously. It’s hard to know without the details of the case whether there decision was correct or not.

In the mean time, concentrate on safeguarding, apply for a restraining order. Keep reporting him to the police if his behaviour continues.
