A member of my family (not immediate family) was looking into driving lessons and couldn't find anything in budget. I mean they are pricey but what they were quoted was silly money and more than my kids are paying. I googled it for them and came up with one in their area that seemed reasonable. They told me later they'd looked into it, contacted them, and agreed a package of lessons that included the test. It has turned out to be a scam. I feel awful, I know I'm not strictly responsible but I'm sickened. They are going to try and get their money back one way or another. They are not wealthy and can't afford to lose this sort of money. If they can't get it would you help out? I was thinking of giving them 50% of what they've lost. My DH disagrees. The website looks slick and professional, trust pilot has good reviews but someone else has put one on this morning saying they were scammed.

Such a rotten thing to do, have the police been informed? You're not responsible OP, but it would be a kind gesture to offer some money.
