Teenage daughter grabbed in street by creep

My daughter age 18 is 4 hours away at Uni. This morning a middle aged man told her she looked fit and grabbed her arm. He gave her his phone and said he wouldn't let her go until she gave him her number. She put in a fake number and tried to run away but he grabbed her arm and said she couldn't leave until her phone rang. She was able to get away but he shouted he will be waiting for her tomorrow. She walks that route every morning from gym to uni.
Anyway, she just rang to tell me, she is freaking out. She is such an anxious person, I can't see her being able to cope with making a statement to the police. Feel hopeless. Any advice?

That must have been terrifying.

What makes you think she wouldn't cope with the police?

Is there anyone there who can support her, should she choose to speak to them?

100% the police!

Thanks, she has aspergers, she is just holding things together away from home. She is so nervous about her timetable and missing any classes. I am hoping the uni has some support which I've advised her to find tomorrow. She has some new friends who seem nice but she has only known them a couple of weeks.

There was a thing in GMB this morning and it's in the news again now saying that things like this need to be reported. I'd support her to get it reported. She can do it online if she doesn't want to speak to anyone. These things escalate.

I'm sorry it happened to your daughter.
