TW**DV/Abuse

I put a post on not long ago about my neighbours fighting/arguing and the male got arrested and let out the next day.

Two weeks ago it all started again and I got the whole DV on audio. I heard everything as if I was in the same room. I rang the police and they arrested him straight away and he’s pleaded not guilty so now I have to go to court in April.

He’s on bail at another address but I’m SO anxious about the whole thing and I have no idea what’s going to happen or what to expect. I don’t want him to see me up at the stand as I know I’ll feel vulnerable and intimidated.

Any advice on what happens when you’re a witness/what to expect would be greatly appreciated thank you!

Dd was a witness and the court gave her I think it was called a McKenzie friend, someone who helps you through the process, they were great.
Dd also sat in another room and gave evidence via a video link.
If I were you I'd either ring the officer involved or ring the court and explain that you're concerned about being face 2 face with a man that you know to be violent.
Good luck

Are you able to request to give evidence from behind a screen or video link?
