Hello, new to mumsnet and in need of some advice and encouragement.
Basically had a very abusive past with an ex partner that I have a child with. Lots of things happened that wasn't reported and called the police a handful of times to have him removed from our home. On one occasion I called the police on him for punching me in the stomach whilst I was pregnant with our son, pleaded guilty and received community service. Still should have seen this as a major red flag to leave but unfortunately due to not being strong enough after all of the mental and emotional abuse I stayed. He assaulted me again by strangling me and putting a soiled nappy in my face. Also threats to kill me. Pleaded guilty, then not guilty, turned up to court on the day and he changed his plea to guilty again. Recieved a 5 year restraining order for no direct and/or indirect contact, neither is he allowed to enter my street/home address.
Recently I've received multiple calls off him on a private number, which has been reported to the police. He got arrested, put on remand and was released on bail after spending a week in prison until court. I've found out that he's pleaded not guilty and really concerned about how I'm going to prove that it was him who called me. I answered 2 of all the calls and am 100% sure it was him as he was saying how he still loves me and misses me, also acknowledging he could go to prison for 5 years for breaching the order. Do you think the police would be able to trace the private number or would they not see it as a serious enough reason to do so? Just really concerned about how it'll turn out. I feel anxious and really unsettled at the thought of how this is going to go.
Thank you in advance.
