Is it worth paying for editorial feedback?

I've been reading the Writers' Workshop website and just wondering this.
I wrote a middle grade book and sent it off to 4 places, got 2 nice rejections and I'm wondering whether to bother trying any more. I enjoyed writing it (and the dc enjoyed reading it)but I suspect it's probably too far away from publishable. But would it be worth getting feedback on it and seeing if I could get it into a publishable state?

What are people's experiences and if they're positive, could they give recommendations? Thanks.

I think it can be worth it but it is quite pricey. I have had a good report from Cornerstones before, although it was a while ago.
A cheaper alternative to try first is a critique group. Are you a member of SCBWI? They run lots of master classes on writing for children and an excellent conference in November, where you can get a one-to-one with an agent or editor. They can also put you together with a critique group, either face to face or online.

Also, four places isn't very many. I would keep going!

Thanks, it's the price that puts me off. It would be about £400 from what I can see for the whole book, and it's whether it's worth it.

I know 4 places isn't many, but more I didn't want to burn my boats at too many agents, then get feedback and find I change it enough to make it better, but not enough to resubmit it.

I'll look at SCBWI.
