Got the snacks prepared. We’re putting the tree up as wee speak. This year’s toy show theme is “home alone”.

Trying not to eat all the chocolate's before it starts!

Well I feel we’ve done well to at least watch the start. I’m always astonished at how the kids on the show aren’t asleep on their feet by the end!

Hate to say but not enjoying it at all. Very begging heavy 😞 plus lots of talking from Patrick, I'm like get on with it. DH had to put the sub titles on as we actually struggled understanding lots of the talk.

The children have all been fantastic. Confident, friendly and well mannered.

I'll have to catch up tomorrow...went to bed early....listening to mad storm..

It was fabulous. I loved the little astronaut girl & her little comrade who joined her. Such intelligent little kids & so so cute!

Marblesbackagain · 07/12/2024 00:34

The kids were great and I did find Saoirse's star on the huge tree a beautiful elegant touching tribute to the late beautiful girl.

I enjoyed it and know one of the two girls that will be going to Florida. Delighted for them.

I always find the audience mildly sinister — I think it’s the massed Christmas jumpers and the occasional elf. The guy with little Christmas tree baubles in his beard was giving me the heebie-jeebies.

The children were adorable as ever. And all the proper Toy Show bingo card moments were covered:

child from farming background knowledgeably discusses slurry and tractor engines
child unexpectedly brought face to face with hero
Patrick wears a silly costume
wisp of a child has giant, operatic voice
child falls off bike or scooter while waving

I know someone who was in the audience a couple of years ago. When you get contacted to say you got a ticket, they tell you to come in full on Christmas gear. The madder the better.

Yes, Saoirse really was a bright shining star. What a terrible loss.

I was forced to listen it as I’m in a hospital ward and the television is right by the nurses station - they were the only ones watching it. Not my thing at all.

I thought some of the audience were slightly ignorant with their choice of high headgear.i would have been raging if I was sat behind the lad with the huge Christmas tree on his head!

Get better soon @Berlinlover
Enforced listening to TLLTS wouldn't be good for anyone's recovery Smile
