Anyone else homeless in NI?

We were made homeless last month due to landlord selling up and we couldn't find anything else. Registered with housing executive, DD has special needs and we were awarded statutory homeless status. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat and knows about housing points?

Many thanks

Hi yes, today officially homeless. Disabled and also my child had sever disability and learning difficulties - autism. Housing executive couldn’t give a hoot they want us to go into a hostel.

where are you living?

So sorry to hear that @Walkingwithdinosaurs it's utterly soul destroying. I'm in my 40s, post grad degree, privately rented for the last 20 years and never, ever thought I'd be in this situation. Housing executive said the only place for us was a hostel in Omagh, which I refused as dd was in the middle of her GCSE's. My older dd is autistic, which is part of a syndrome so she has lots of medical problems and going into a hostel with no cooking/washing facilities just isn't an option. I'm very fortunate that a family member said we could share their 2 bed flat, so we are very overcrowded. I'm applying for private rentals daily and I don't get accepted for anything.
I currently have 180 points (I've become quite the expert!) but should have 200, housing solutions are an absolute disaster. They don't seem to read emails and the queue for the phone is mad.
What about you, where are you staying?

Oh you’re quite close to me I am in Dungannon area. We only have 138 points despite the above which is a joke, they can’t seem to understand how their own points work! They havnt added the points for my disability so I have to wait until the person come back from annual leave to reassess us.

We are in a caravan in my mums driveway!! Absolute nightmare. They will probably leave us here.

Walking we are in County Antrim so Omagh is 80 miles away, so not suitable at all for going to schools. From what I've seen on facebook groups not going into a hostel is a problem, every day I email to ask for temporary accommodation with cooking/laundry facilities (my dd is incontinent) and they say that families in hostels are the priority due to the cost.
I've no idea what sort of points you need in your area, but apparently I need 200+ in mine to even have a chance.

Oh wow that is a disaster for you, that must be so difficult in every respect for you all. I know the needs of people really are not taken into consideration, a hostel isn’t suitable for so many people yet they throw us in there and that’s the problem sorted for them. My child would get into trouble at a hostel he’s quite unruly and can’t be controlled so would cause many issues.

Yes my points don’t even really qualify me for anything at all. I honestly don’t know what I can do. My heads been all over the place for the last week and the fact that my assessor went on leave and didn’t even pass my case on shows me they don’t care at all.

I think the "going on leave" is a complete lie, every housing officer who has emailed me, then I've replied to asking for clarification, has then sent me a message saying that they are going on leave. On 6th June I got an email to say he was going off on leave until 25th May Hmm.
