https://www.aircoach.ie/

This goes from right outside the arrival terminal.
You buy articles at a kiosk or on the queue, outside near the busstop. It goes into the city centre.

Aircoach | Dublin Airport Bus | Bus To Dublin Airport | Aircoach.ie

We used the Dublin express a few weeks ago, right outside the terminal and really easy to use. The website has a map of all the stops/timetables and you can buy tickets on there, there's also a kiosk to buy tickets but people with online tickets were given priority it seemed.

We found it quite hard to locate the city centre stop for the return airport bus - it's across the river from the drop off point, and not very well signposted. Nowhere to sit while you wait, either.

If you’ve got time and want a cheaper alternative, the 16 bus goes to the city centre from both terminals. Exact cash fare or LEAP card only, no contactless. Only €2.60 for an adult and half that for a child. Does take a bit longer than
Aircoach/Dublin
Express but was a massive saving for our family of 5.

Doesn't the 41 from Swords still go through Airport on way to town?

MadisonAvenue · 30/09/2023 22:14

We used the Dublin Express last month, went to buy a ticket for the Aircoach initially but for some reason the next one wasn’t for another 50 minutes (this was 11.30am).

It wasn’t so easy getting back to the airport though. We waited at the Aston Quay stop which is shown as a pick up stop for the city to airport journey. When the bus arrived a number of people got off, so there was room for us, but the driver said we needed to go to the other side of the river to catch it and pointed in the direction of the stop.
However, the first two buses to arrive were full by the time they got there so we had to wait for a third and although we’d given ourselves plenty of time to get to the airport we were starting to worry.

Yes 41 still goes from airport to town

Walkacrossthesand · 03/10/2023 16:38

@MadisonAvenue we were lucky to get on, then - it was the Aston quay stop we were at! It's stress you don't need when you've got luggage and a plane to catch..

For those of you who got the bus recently, is it like a coach or a bus bus? Travelling to Dublin soon with toddler and can’t find a taxi firm that has a car seat available. Not planning on hiring a car for the trip either so don’t want to bring a car seat.

They’re coaches.

The Number 16 bus is a regular city bus.

Thank you all

Thanks OP for the thread and to others for the tips on regular city buses going via the airport to the city centre.

If anyone does happen to know of a taxi service that provides a car seat from Dublin Airport I am still exploring that option in case the bus means we would be cutting it fine for our onward train travel. I’ve tried ‘Child friendly taxis/ taxi bambino’. Thanks again!

Dublincailin · 11/10/2023 21:17

I could be wrong as I don't gave young kids but I don't think taxis are obliged to provide car seats.

sunleopard · 11/10/2023 21:49

I know they are not obliged to provide a car seat, but I’m trying to find a company that would provide a car seat at extra cost to me for safety reasons. I’ve done it in other cities although some places it wasn’t possible and we got the train. In London there is an app called Gett for booking a black cab where we could keep the buggy up with child in it so just wondering if anything similar might be possible.

If we had loads of time the bus options to Dublin centre sound good. Not too keen on getting a coach with toddler on my lap and no seatbelt or car seat for them.

mathanxiety · 12/10/2023 18:44

You could try The Stork Exchange, if they're still in operation.
