Where to stay in Dublin?

Looking for some advice - managed to get tickets to Taylor Swift at the Aviva for my 18 yr old daughter and I. We will make a long weekend if it so where should we stay? Close to Aviva or more central? We want to enjoy a bit of time in the city whilst we are there.

I stayed in the Camden Court Hotel for a hen recently. It was the most reasonably priced hotel we could find and it was very clean and comfortable.

Its not too far from the Aviva (about 35 min walk if you were stuck) and is only a short luas ride to the city centre

If you do stay there I'd also recommend the nearby cafe Ebb & Flow. We soothed our hangovers there the next day and they do a great breakfast!

I think anywhere close to the Aviva or city centre will be charging a premium.

There a lovely hotel in Dun Laoghaire, the Haddington, the dart from the aviva will be about 15 mins. Hotel is right on the seafront, great food, the area is lovely in summer, but only 25 mins from town. Friends have stayed there and loved it.

Tbh i think first priority will be finding anywhere that has vacant rooms, then narrowing it down to what you can afford. Rooms were going from €500 + as soon as the dates were announced.

Hotels in Dublin are vvvv expensive!
Im going for three days in late September and couldn’t find a single for less than €150 a night! The next step down was a hostel at €80. At 55yo I think a “youth” hostel is pushing it…
I very nearly splurged on The Fleet Hotel Temple Bar (look on Booking. Com) which is as central as you can get but ended up on Harcourt St. near Stephen’s Green.

Your biggest problem is going to be able.to find a hotel room

You may have to go outside dublin

I lived in Dublin in the 80s, so for nostalgia I’ll be eating at Beshoff’s fish and chips and the Kylemore (both cheap eats on O’Connell Street) and meeting an old friend for dinner and drinks at Davy Byrne’s gastro pub.

Current hotel quotes for the concerts are 400+. It is a news story 😀. I would focus on securing a room as there is no way that demand will be able to be met.

Looks like we are going to have to pay over the odds to get something…am on the case and this will have to be a combined Christmas and Birthday present! Am so excited to visit Dublin- was last there nearly 30 years ago!

Sandymount hotel if it's still there. Near enough to DART. And didn't used to be extortionate (a while since i was there though tbf)
