What are you doing with them?

So far all I have come up with is walking the dogs, going to the local teen gym, walks with pals and some housework each day. They also have lego sets to finish (expensive ones with a LOT of work needed) and the odd day out. Too old/cool for summercamps. We both work although one of us is always working from home but 3 months of this....

We're both secondary teachers so are looking at it from another angle but my advice would be not to fret too much about having them 'do' things. Let them relax a bit.

How old are they? Can't they just chill out and see their friends? They don't need to be 'doing' things every day.

Not doing anything tbh. She'll be out with her mates. We're lucky enough in that there's a few of them around the estate. When she was younger and didn't have too many friends close by and i was working, i had her in summer camp. Which was hard but neccessary!

Ours are 16 and two x 13year olds. The older one is fine and always has been but the other pair are draining. She (they as she prefers ffs) is very social and goes everywhere with everyone which is a worry but he is the total opposite . He is not social at all.

Just let them relax and do absolutely nothing if that's what they want. I'd definitely try to encourage a part time job for 16 and upwards though

Teach them to cook and expect each of them to produce one family dinner each week, and to clean up after it. They can choose what they've going to do (with three of them they'll need to discuss it beforehand so you don't end up with the same thing x 3). Give them a budget and watch them buy the ingredients.

Also put them on laundry duty, on a rota. They'll growl now, but they'll have useful life skill in a few year's time.
