Preferably France or Spain. And good for teenagers. I could go in June, but I have a 14 only son and want other teenagers for him, English speaking, think it might too quiet. Any recommendations? I have another thread, it hasn't got many replies.

Might get more traffic on holiday etc pages. The wording looks like you want Gaeilge? Which you obviously don't!

Magnalux · 28/01/2023 09:28

Camping La sirene in France might be with a look.. my kids are a bit younger 10-11-12 however there was loads of Irish. We loved it there

Your post is confusing. Do you want a campsite with Irish/Gaeilge or English speaking people?

usernameV2 · 28/01/2023 11:17

Sorry, Irish people, I was thinking of the Irish school holidays.

We had our worst holiday ever in Sanguli last summer. Lauded as a 5 star camping. Pools so full the water was slimey. The place full of irish and A few spanish only. It was like going on hols to a hot connemara seriously. Met a few nice people from home. The entertainment was woeful and soo expensive in salou . Rip off. We went every day on day trips to get away from the crowds..i digress here BUT be careful what you wish for in camp sites . The popular ones with eurocamp are thronged BUT we went to camping lido lazise in 2019.full of danish english spanish and italians as well as a few irish. Just fab- slides.lake. theme parks. Walking distance to a little village with restaurants . Just fab

Hot Connemara 😂😂😂

usernameV2 · 31/01/2023 12:09

Thanks Radyward, I was thinking of Sanguli. Maybe I'll think twice. Though a hot Connemara doesn't sound bad to me 😀

Like the lifeguards were so over zealous . Whistles goin all day. The slides are nothing to the sites in France . My daughter age 13 wanted to hire bikes omg between crowds/ vans/campervans/bin lorries/ toddlers on balance bikes/ electric scooters it was honestly dangerous.
I now realise you cant believe trip advisor. Met a lovely family from Clare at the pool one day who always do all inclusive with tui holiday villages and couldnt wait to go home !! We werent that bad!!! And its one of the most expensive holidays we ever went on with the 3 kids and to not enjoy it
We are goimg to zell am see in austria this summer

Good luck with what/ where you pick . Hopefully someone will be along with a suggestion.

usernameV2 · 31/01/2023 12:39

Well yes, so expensive I would hate to get it wrong. Maybe there's a lot to be said for the smaller sites.

Just to play devils advocate here.. we’ve been to sanguli twice and absolutely loved it, it’s packed with Irish, our kids had a great time making friends. I’d go back with no hesitation. Though the lifeguards are a bit too fond of the whistle! I recommended la sirene above but we actually stayed in the hippocamp which is across the road ( they are sister sites) it’s way smaller, it’s much quieter but you have all the amenities of the big site on the other side of the road.

usernameV2 · 01/02/2023 12:23

Thanks Magnalux, I looked at la sirene, seems nice

Magnalux, were you there in July? Trying to guage how busy it would be. Also TripAdvisor had complaints about no footwear or sun loungers at the pool, was that a problem? It looks really nice and I am tempted by hippocamps especially

we were there last week of June /first week of July .. it was busy, but everywhere is busy in July! Hipppcampe was lovely to escape to after the noise and bustle of la sirene! The main evening entertainment is in la sirene. Yea that was a slight bug bear the no loungers at the pool but people bought little back support things with them so they could recline a little on a towel. The town argles sur mer is about 4km away but there’s a tourist train that does a loop multiple times a day up and down

Castell Montgri is good. When we were last there one of the staff there told us that it was mostly Irish in June. British in July and Dutch in August. I think most resorts are thronged in July and August which is why I prefer to travel in June.

crackofdoom · 04/02/2023 13:54

Have a look at le Milin Kerhe in Brittany, if you're OK with English/Dutch/French people? 😆 Our favourite French campsite, they have things like raft races/ bat walks in season.

usernameV2 · 04/02/2023 17:55

Thanks all, I only specified Irish because I wanted english speaking so he can make friends, also they would share the 3 months summer holidays, so June is a possibility.

We are heading to Castel Montgri mid June with 14 year old and younger kids. I've heard there are lots of teens and Irish so I'm hoping our eldest makes friends! It's walking distance to a town too which I'm happy about
