We're going to see family soon with our 4 month old. I've booked flights but no bags because I'm not sure what you're allowed to bring and when booking for baby , there was nowhere to specify buggies etc. What can I expect? Thought I'd ask here before contacting them. Can we bring the buggy? What about car seat? Can we each have 10kgs hand luggage?

Well there were several buggies at the gate at Dublin yesterday although I transferred from a transatlantic flight so no idea if people with buggies also transferred from some airport where they were allowed buggies or were coming straight from check-in for that flight only.

I see people with buggies at the gate all the time. They take the buggy then. People usually have random bags too. Changing bags, kids rucksacks etc.

These days when flights are busy they ask for people to check their 10kg bag at the gate too. So it goes on straight into the hold at that stage and you pick it up at baggage reclaim the other end.

I’ve flown a lot with babies/toddlers, including Aer Lingus. When you check-in your baggage, they will give you a tag for the pram. You put it on the handle and then you can take the pram through security/around the airport and you give it to them either at the gate or at the foot of the aeroplane, depending on airline/how you board. Are you still using the bassinet for the pram?

Hiya, travelling with baby and husband on Aer Lingus. Not sure what to expect. Would love to hear your experiences, what to expect, if seats are narrow and tight, baggage ect
