How to find part-time housekeeper/cleaner in ireland

Hi - I'm helping a friend find a housekeeper/cleaner for 2-3 mornings a week in Colligan (Dungarvan) area but finding it difficult to locate where I can post ads cheaply. Single professional guy so not too heavy-duty a job. Seems like a good type of job for mums (or dads) who have kids in school hours. And this type of job would be snapped out by mums in the UK. But just finding it difficult to find similar people in Ireland (outside of Dublin).

I would do this using gumtree in the UK. But gumtree webpage for ireland and adverts webpage for ireland look sparse for these types of jobs outside of Dublin. Mindme webpage has a few possibilities but it has a €25 sign up fee which fees a little steep. He prefers not to do Facebook. Does anyone know where I can post his ad?

I haven't a clue but there is a Craicnet poster from the Waterford area- she was praising the Ardkeen Stores I think, during lockdown.
Sadly I can't remember her username.

That's probably me, I live in the Ardkeen area. I wouldn't know anything about cleaners in Dungarvan.

Probably on noticeboards in the local shops. That's where I see them.

It might be worth posting on boards.ie in the Waterford County section - under the Regional section. I know he'd prefer not use facebook but the Waterford: Questions & Answers facebook page often have requests looking for cleaners. There may also be the local community page.

It is indeed you @honeyrider
Well spotted and thank you Flowers for coming on to help out.

When he prefers not to do facebook is this because its opening the gateway for lots of people to get in contact with him?

If so, would he put an anonymous post on a local page?

I did this and had lots of people reply. There was one that said he had references so I went with her.

Other than that the only thing I can think of is notice boards or the local paper.

Re mindme, I find that the ads there can often be years old, with only a few up to date ones.

Most people I know that have a cleaner it was via word of mouth so ask locals.

Try mindme.ie you can also advertise for cleaners on it. Not sure if there is a fee
