Teaching jobs in Ireland HELP

Hello all! Any advice on where to start? When in the UK I would have approached a teaching agency but can't seem to find any here (Cork). Is contacting schools with a CV the done thing or am I missing a main hub of jobs somewhere? Thanks x

See here: my.corehr.com/pls/cketbrecruit/erq_search_package.search_form?p_company=1&p_internal_external=E#

And you can register here: www.dcsnet.ie/web_panelcorkcity/pttapp_registration.htm

I'm not up to date on this, but a few years ago my DSis wanted some part time teaching hours.

Are you registered with the Teaching Council? Are you primary or secondary qualified?

A lot of jobs advertised via educationposts.ie

Good start would be to approach schools with your CV and teaching council registration for substitute work. Also if you join teaching union for whichever sector your're qualified for, attending meetings is a good way of getting yourself known to schools.

Thanks so much for the suggestions 🙏🏻 I'm getting registered, I'm primary trained. Will get updating my CV 🌟

Registration is really first requirement. Great you have it started. Best of luck with process.

Most schools won't look at your CV til you're TC registered. You need to go on www.educationposts.ie and apply directly to schools. No teaching agencies in Ireland.

Blackcatsocks · 10/03/2022 19:18

I assume if you're primary trained you have Irish? You can't teach in primary in Ireland without Irish.

You need a Teaching Council number and then you can advertise on Education Posts that you are available to sub or better still temporary vacancies come up on local what's app groups. You need to find someone who can direct you to these - local principal perhaps.
