How long did you have to isolate for?
My covid addled brain can't seem to find clear information on this.
We've been unwell and there are long waits for PCR test appointments.
Family of 5. Three definite positives on antigen tests and 1 likely positive. First family member tested positive on 27th. Due to lack of PCR slots didn't get confirmation til the 30th.
Based on text from HSE after 1st positive PCR we have to isolate til 9th.
Rest of us booked for PCRs over the coming days.
All vaccinated ×2.
Thanks

Forgot to say my confusion is around onset of symptoms and delayed test results.
10 days from symptoms & positive antigen test will be very different from 10 days from PCR result.

Everyone will have their own isolation time depending on their symptoms or positive LFT test date.

Is it Ireland that's shortening isolation to 7 days if you get a negative LFT on day 6 and 7?

They should have counted it from date of the positive LFT/symptoms rather than the date of PCR

I've had another read of the information. Since everyone was symptomatic and over 13 then it seems that it is 10 days from onset on symptoms with isolation ending dependant on symptoms being gone.
7 day isolation for the boostered adult.

Ten days isolation for a cold is madness
The govt really has to change this. And for close contacts asap. I know our neighbours kids isolated for 3 weeks as all tested + at differing times and were national school age
So hard.
In the HSE colleagues come in now if symptom free but are household close contacts and get the 20 min fast turnaround pcr just to keep the staffing levels up otherwise carnage !!! Tg omicron is for the most part mild it has to be a gamechanger in this 2 yr nightmare !

Yup, 10 days for unboostered, 7 for boostered. DD and BF have it atm. He had symptoms first, but no booster, got PCR result two days after symptoms started, so he does 10 days from onset of symptoms. Today is day 7, he feels absolutely fine - he did an antigen and its still positive. DD had no symptoms, got positive pcr test two days after him, but she's boostered so will do 7 days from pcr result day.

Two with COVID here - DS and DH. We literally cannot get a PCR appointment for DH.

DS tested positive (Antigen) on 29th Dec, DH tested positive on 1st Jan. Contacted GP on 30th Dec as we couldn’t get a self referred appointment for DS, GP booked PCR appointment is for Wed, 5th Jan! DS has been antigen testing every day since and is testing negative today. Cancel the appointment? Still trying to get an appointment for DH.

DS, DH and I are boosted. So they will both continue to isolate until their 7 days are up. I’m a close contact, non symptomatic and testing negative so I’m restricting movement until 6th Jan (5 days). I think that’s correct?
