A couple of days in Belfast

I was thinking of a short trip to Belfast over the mid term, getting the train up with dd who's 16. We'd both love a change of scenery and our only visit to Belfast was a school trip to Titanic (it was fantastic).

We both love art, vintage/antique shops, cute cafes. A visit to Anthropologie is a non negotiable!

I'd love any suggestions for places to visit, stay or eat. Thanks 😊

There's a premier inn in the titanic quarter, right by the museum and the open top bus tour stops right outside

We had a wonderful time in Belfast and didn’tdo it all. It goes without saying that we spent a day at the Titanic Museum. Book a Black Cab Tour and you get taken on a guided tour of the city and are shown the murals and the wall and the whole history and situation will be explained to you. They pick you up from your hotel. We also booked a coach trip up the coast to the Giants Causeway. We had dinner in an old hotel that had jazz in the restaurant and a wonderful Edwardian cocktail bar. I can’t remember the name but I’m sure you could find it. We shopped in the Victorian Market. To be honest, we barely had time to sleep.

If you want somewhere a bit more interesting to stay try Bullitt. Decent bar and restaurant there too. It’s not too expensive.

We also booked a coach trip up the coast to the Giants Causeway.

We did the game of thrones tour and it included giant's causeway, carrick-a-rede rope bridge etc but it was an all day activity. Did include lunch though.

Grand opera house has just reopened for theatre.

Hop on hop off bus tour
Crumlin road gaol is popular
Titanic museum
Ulster museum is free and walk round botanic gardens / queens university

Loads of hotel options from budget end premier inns ( cathedral quarter good area close to bars and shopping)
To higher end hotels like grand central or fitzwilliam

I think Crumlin Road Gaol has some spooky Halloween stuff on.

The bus tour is great.

Food: Howard St, Home and Coppi are lovely restaurants. For more casual, bootleggers has great burgers and diner style food.

Brilliant suggestions, Thanks so much!

I second the crumlin Gaol Halloween activities and the Ulster museum.
I think someone upthread was referring to Bert's jazz bar.
So many great places to eat. We love villa italia, Zen, Coppi, 2 Taps, Merchant.

www.seedheadarts.com/street-art/walking-tour

If you're here over a Sunday morning this is good- it's an easy walk, all based within about six streets, corners etc, not too taxing, not too arty pretentious and only a tenner.
We've been in Common Market and the Dumpling Library to eat lately and enjoyed both.

Cathedral quarter has nice bars and restaurants and has a lovely feel to it
