Flying into Ireland after 22nd October

Could anyone help please as my head is now in a spin. We are flying Bristol to Knock during half term but I can't find information on what will happen after the 22nd October when I believe rules change? All I can find are the current rules.
I'll buy anyone that helps a bag of Tayto and a Club Orange. Grin

Oh I am also flying after 22nd. Help appreciated!

BordelDeMerde · 07/10/2021 20:09

I'm flying in the 23rd. Wasn't aware the rules were changing. Slackening or tightening up?

Relaxing... somewhat. I don't know exactly, but enjoy your visit!
BordelDeMerde · 07/10/2021 20:12

A quick google suggests they're easing, so if you're prepared to follow all current rules, you should be fine.

BordelDeMerde · 07/10/2021 20:15

@IsFuzzyBeagMise thanks. I'm just going back to see my old Dad, though, so nothing too exciting. I won't even be able to go out for a pint as I'll have DD with me. Grin

Yes I think I'd better just carry on as though it was before then. Price per night this 4 day break is costing me an arm and a leg - car hire has gone up so much!!

Aw...I hope you have a lovely reunion! Make the most of it. At least get yourself a mineral :)
I haven't though about the 22nd of October at all. I'll wait for the big announcement :)

All restrictions lifting except for mask wearing in retail, healthcare settings and public transport.

Tbh I don’t quite believe things will go back to normal - expect people will remain cautious

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 07/10/2021 20:25

I expect people will remain cautious too. Hope so, anyway!

BordelDeMerde · 07/10/2021 20:29

Thanks @IsFuzzyBeagMise

I am still wedded to my mask in public places and will be for quite some time, I think.

I hear you!

We'll have to see how it goes!

That first link states the changes apply from 22 October, which is when I fly.

I am wondering will we still need a Passenger locator form when flying from UK. I guess so, until/unless the travelling to Ireland link states otherwise!

Has anyone recently flown Aer Lingus from UK to Ireland?

If so, did you upload docs to the VeriFLY system, or just show them at the airport?

toddlermom · 13/10/2021 00:35

I just showed my documents at the airport. Flew last week and again tomorrow. Was no mention of Verifly until recently on the emails

BertiesShoes · 13/10/2021 10:20

@toddlermom

Thanks, are you flying Aer Lingus tomorrow, and have you checked in online?

The AL email I have just received seems to state that I can only check in online once I have uploaded docs to Verifly.

Have you found outgoing airport busy? I will be there early on 22nd so will probably just check in at airport!

MarDhea · 14/10/2021 08:25

I flew Aer Lingus a coupe of weeks ago and didn't use Verifly (I have privacy concerns about sharing health data with a 3rd party commercial outfit based in the US).

It made no difference because nobody checked anything between UK and Ireland. Shock The UK airport person at bag drop asked me if I had proof of vaccination or negative PCR, and if I'd filled in the Covid arrival form thing, but didn't want to see any docs when I went to take them out. Then nobody checked anything at Dublin airport either - zapped my passport at an automatic gate and walked through.

AL are very keen on Verifly because it means less for them to check and saves them time, but it's not compulsory at all, regardless of their nagging and misleading emails.

MarDhea · 14/10/2021 08:26

Oh - and it was no problem to check in online without using Verifly.

BertiesShoes · 14/10/2021 08:30

Thank you @MarDhea
