2022 holiday help!!

Considering travel for 2 adults and 4 dc next summer.
Either - half decent campsite within short travel to Dublin zoo.
Or fly, hire car and find great cottage within short travel to Dublin zoo..
Any advice?
Ferry appears expensive but flying with 4 x dc isn't appealing!

I think it depends on what you mean by short travel? The Zoo is in the Phoenix Park which is in the city so there aren't many campsites that close.
There is Camac Valley in Clondalkin but it's not close to a beach or anything, is near a large park though.

An hour travel to a day out perhaps?
No beach needed - we live at one at home!!

Check out hidden valley in wicklow combining a day trip /2 to clara lara fun park. Plus day trip into Dublin to the zoo = mighty holiday for you all

Centerparcs in Longford is pretty central to the whole island and would make a good base although maybe too expensive for you.
Would mean taking your car on the ferry.

Or if you could find an Airbnb cottage around Drogheda or County Meath you would be within driving distance to Tayto Park, Funtasia indoor water park and the Zoo.
Some hotels do packages with tickets to these attractions but you’d have to check if they could accommodate family size with connecting rooms.

Not sure about campsites I’m afraid.

Oo thanks so much!! The dc are keen to go somewhere new! The zoo looks great - and we have a big enough car I think to get us and all our stuff over!
