Just that really, how do I go about finding a Nanny. Are there particular agencies recommended? How much a month is it likely to cost?

Relocating from UK with 3 small DC

Thanks

Are you moving to Dublin? If so I used the Belgrave Agency and my nanny has also sourced previous roles through the Hynes Agency.

Not sure what the going rate is at the moment but when I was looking 5 years ago it was €12-15 per hour gross (plus employer PRSI of 11.05% on top), depending on experience, number of kids, whether they can drive etc. This was for live-out - not sure what live-in would be.

Yes moving before end of year so looking at all options. Thinking a nanny will be a good option in terms of settling in.

Looking for nurseries from afar of a bit impossible!

Best of luck. If you’re thinking of a nanny I’d say contact the agencies ASAP. It took me much longer than I anticipated to find one who met our needs and with whom I was happy.

Outside of Dublin, proper nannies aren't too much of a thing and are very very hard to find. It's much more a case of 'childminder in mindees house' (which legally is the same as nanny but it's very informal cash in hand type of arrangement).

This is speaking as someone who lives in an Irish city that isn't Dublin, I spent months and months looking for a nanny and couldn't find one in the traditional sense. Settled in the end for a 'live out au pair' who we paid as much as the going rate for a nanny, but was cash in hand. Which I know is illegal but we couldn't find anyone willing to do it any other way.
