You don't need it anymore was announced a couple of weeks ago

Covidisdrivingmecrazy · 22/07/2021 13:35

Didn't save the link sorry as I'd already ordered one. Worth a Google? When are you going? We're on Liverpool belfast ferry Sunday night all going well and no big policy changes before then!

MegCleary · 22/07/2021 16:20

Got sorted, emailed. Needed until 2/8/21 apparently.
So check list is
Passports
COVID nhs letters for me and Dh printed
Neg COVID test dd printed
Insurance sorted

Think you've got it all there. Good luck! I'm starting to get excited now. Kids getting covid tests done today.

Decorhate · 24/07/2021 08:34

@Covidisdrivingmecrazy Why do you need to get your kids tested going to Belfast? Or are you crossing the border afterwards?

Covidisdrivingmecrazy · 24/07/2021 11:38

@decorhate yes going straight south. We probably won't be stopped. We would likely have got away with it but I'm happy enough to have that final check that we're not bringing the plague to the grandparents. I'm not sure I got the right test as we swabbed ourselves and posted (rather than went to a test centre) but it will do.

Decorhate · 24/07/2021 12:38

I’ll be interested to hear how everyone gets on with their journeys/checks etc. I’ve just realised that the name on my NHS App does not quite match my passport so 🤞it won’t be an issue!

MakeTeaNotWar · 24/07/2021 14:50

I'm flying Heathrow to Dublin on Thursday and was asked by Aer Lingus to download the VeriFLY app, input my details and am clear to fly. My brother arrived from USA on Thursday

Covidisdrivingmecrazy · 25/07/2021 10:38

We're off today! Great excitement

Covidisdrivingmecrazy · 26/07/2021 06:09

Just filled in passenger locator form didn't ask anything about vaccinations or tests!

Galvia · 26/07/2021 06:19

Also getting the ferry at the weekend. Havent been home in over 2 years which is unheard of for us. Trying to navigate and time when, where and how to get DDs PCR for travel test and worried results won't come back in time!

MegCleary · 26/07/2021 16:05

They asked for vax certs, PCR and locator forms going on ferry, cabin keys given as checked in at booth. Customs check getting off in Dublin and then Garda checked passports, vax certs, PCR test and that was it .

@MegCleary pcr just for kids / unvaccinated right?

MegCleary · 26/07/2021 21:26

Yep PCR was for 13 year old

Does anyone know if the Covid situation would have any impact on over 16 year olds being able to travel on their own?

17 year old Ds is planning to fly separately to us as he does not want to be there as long as us. He’ll obviously need a PCR test & his own passenger locator form (I hope under 18s can do their own?)

I just worry that something will go wrong & we will already have left.

Decorhate · 29/07/2021 07:47

Also, what does this statement mean:

You must fill in this COVID-19 Passenger Locator Form within 72 hours before you arrive into Ireland from overseas.

Do you feel it in no earlier than 72 hours before travelling or no later than 72 hours before travelling?

Piapea · 29/07/2021 08:20

Hi everyone
I went home a couple of months ago and had a PCR before I went. I'm not fully vaccinated yet but I think I had Covid in June. Do I need to have a PCR test before I go or can I get some kind of test for Covid antibodies to show that I had it in the last 6 months? This is based off info I read on www.citizensinformation.ie.
The antigen test is not something I've heard much about and I have no idea if it would replace a PCR for travel. I'm probably being a bit dense but I can't find a clear answer anywhere. If anyone has any more info than I do, I'd appreciate them sharing :)

MakeTeaNotWar · 29/07/2021 18:06

I've just landed in Dublin, all very easy if a bit drawn out UK side

Decorhate · 08/08/2021 12:38

Has anyone flown into Ireland with Ryanair? I’ve heard they want all the paperwork printed off - wondered if that was true?!

MakeTeaNotWar · 09/08/2021 07:44

I was Aer Lingus and no one looked at anything!

CastAColdEye · 09/08/2021 07:53

@MakeTeaNotWar

I was Aer Lingus and no one looked at anything!
Was paper work checked by anyone off the plane when you landed in Ireland?
Decorhate · 09/08/2021 13:11

Reporting on our experience:

Dh & I came by ferry. They checked our vaccine certs & passenger locator forms as we checked in. No checks on the Irish side.

Ds flew in with Ryanair & said no checks at all on either side.

MakeTeaNotWar · 09/08/2021 16:22

@CastAColdEye no one checked any paperwork

Galvia · 09/08/2021 22:32

We went by ferry to Dublin last week. 2 adults vaccinated, one teenager with pcr and one exempt child. No checks at all at check in or when we arrived in Ireland. No one wanted to see proof of vaccination, pcr test results, passenger locator forms or even our passports!

SilverGlitterBaubles · 13/08/2021 22:08

Travelled home with Aer Lingus, passenger locator form and vaccine certification checked at checkin again at boarding gate and on arrival at border control at the airport. They were certainly not letting anyone through without everything in order.
