What are the rules?

Hi all, we live in NI and I have booked a hotel just outside Dublin for the start of August. I have been looking online to see what the rules are but feeling confused.
We are both double jabbed but will have our two primary aged kids with us who are obv not jabbed, will we be able to dine inside restaurants?
Do we need to test before we go? Who checks this?

I booked this on a whim as the price of hotels up here are absolutely shocking, but I don't want to end up not being able to go anywhere, the restaurant in our hotel isn't even open for meals so just checking we wouldn't be stuck for places to eat etc.

Unvaccinated children will be allowed join vaccinated adults once seated two metres away from other tables. Bring your measuring tape Hmm

Here's Leo explaining the confusing regulations.

Thanks for your reply, I am glad to see that it's not just me who is confused!!!!

Starting to wonder if I should cancel the trip, we spent a week outside Dublin last summer and it was so lovely, feels like this time it might not be worth the drive.

Our hotels were allowing indoor dining since June for guests, from Mon 26th July indoor dining and pubs are open to everyone. People must show proof of vaccinations, children can dine indoors with vaccinated parents. There is no time limits this time round. I'm not sure if hotels require proof of vaccinations to stay there. We've been receiving covid certs here so they are just going to be scanned. I guess a vaccine card and passport/pic id would work too.

We're away at the moment and most restaurants have set up outdoor dining spaces. To be honest I'll be sticking to outdoor for the foreseeable future, I have no desire to eat inside, especially when the weather is good.

Especially around Dublin there will be so many outdoor options for you that I wouldn't bother with the new regulations.

That's good to know, yes it's nice weather now but we all know how fast that can change on this island Grin the hotel we are staying in hasn't opened their pool or restaurant, probably why we have got such a good deal on it, maybe by then they will have it open, here's hoping.
At least the bar is open!
So we don't need to test before coming? We both have our vaccination cards so will bring those with us.

Almost everywhere we've seen has some kind of rain cover over the tables, doubling up for sun now, I don't suppose they were anticipating that!

Roadhouse111 · 22/07/2021 18:04

MrsMaiselsRedCoat the weather has been fab, hope it's still like this when we are on our holiday, although a bit cooler at night would be good!

I thought vaccination cards were not acceptable? You need to have a very or something? But I can’t find out for definite anywhere. My sister in England has a cert which she downloaded in NHS England app. But NI don’t seem to have that?

See here, says for international travel only though?
