Too scared to post this on rollercoaster - losing medical cards

I am looking on the HSE site trying to figure out if I am going to lose my medical card. I have two DC between 12 and 16, and looking at this table I cannot see a category for ''single working parent''. all I can see is single person living with family and I would take that to mean a young adult living at home. If I add the allowance for two children it comes out at 260 and that would mean we'd lose it.

There must be a separate category for single working or non working parent with two dependent DCs as social welfare would be nearly 260 a week!

here is the site. I'm all flustered and agitated now, so if it's staring me in the face and I'm not seeing it it's because I'm feeling panicky

I think it's included in the third category - it says couples, but lone parent with dependent children is in brackets after it. I'm not sure though whether the allowance for each child (38 and 39) would be added onto the listed income limit - I would think so though, surely? - bringing the weekly limit to €343.50 then.

I think badb is correct, hope you get the reassurance you need!

You may be entitled to GP only cards though.

The last time I applied we were well over the weekly limit but when I filled out the form and listed all our outgoings etc we still qualified. It's due for renewal soon. I doubt we'll get it back. Apparently they can recall them at any time though, not just at the expiration date in the card

You'd be entitled to:
€266.50 lone parent with dependent children
€38 child one
€38 child two
Reasonable rent or mortgage cost
Mortgage related fire and contents insurance, mortgage protection insurance and associated life assurance.
Weekly public transport cost to work
Or mileage at a rate of 30 cent per mile/18 cent per km and the cost of parking.

If your income is over the limit, the deciding officer will consider whether it would cause you undue hardship if you are refused a medical card. If you think this may apply in your case, for example, if you have high medical expenses, you can include details of your circumstances when you apply.

Thanks lougle. I really hope we are not turned down. We are healthy but i work a forty hour week and come out with 380 after travel. Ive two kids still at school. If they take the medical cards from us ill cry. And make an appeal. Thanks.
