This awful murder happened twenty years ago - she was only 39. May she rest in peace... it must be so difficult for her family.

There is a 'self confessed' prime suspect - Ian Bailey.

At the risk of outing myself we have family connections in the general area of west cork and people often say openly that he did it. My mother in law is convinced he did it and nothing will persuade her otherwise.

I don't believe that he did though. He is odd and he has treated his partner badly but that doesn't make him a murderer. If he is innocent he has been through absolute hell for the past twenty years.

Any thoughts on this case?

There's been a podcast about the case recently. My husband mentioned it to me and was surprised I knew of it as we spent all our summers in west cork. Can't say I have any thoughts though!

I watched part of the documentary on RTE on Monday evening.
A lovely, loving , beloved mother and daughter was murdered brutally in a very small community. Can it be so difficult with progress in DNA testing 20 years down the line to find the murderer?
I used to have 100% confidence in the Gardai but with new revelations every day about them and their management that confidence has disappeared.
I don't know enough of the ins and outs of the case to pass judgement but I do wish her elderly parents and her son get closure soon.
What finances Ian Bailey's court cases. Is he still working as a journalist?
Why did the witness retract completely her sighting of IB ?
Why did the court yesterday refuse the extradition of Ian Bailey to France.
How can one jurisdiction believe somebody is guilty while another believes he is not guilty?
It's a very strange case.

The Gardai are not exactly trustworthy or wreathed in glory, are they?
I would not believe the Bible when recited by a member of that force.
They are much happier catching soft targets like litter louts. I heard of a person who flicked their cigarette butt from their car and was fined 200 €. Am not condoning that person, but is this what law enforcement amounts to in ROI?

The 2pm on a Monday afternoon or 11 am Sunday morning speed checks on a 60 km an hour dual carriageway ( while there are 100km an hour limits on narrow, winding country roads) annoys me.
Shooting fish in a barrel stuff and just helps raise statistics/ money from fines.
A decision made by traffic corps chiefs and not the local Gardai.
