travel cots... standard vs tent types

Starting to think about travel cot options (DD is 4 mths), and the first decision seems to be whether you go for the standard box frame type or a tent style one. I'm tempted by the tent style ones for potability, but wonder if by the time children get to toddler stage they get frustrated not being able to stand up in them. And do they shift around / topple over?

I think the pop up ones are more suitable for small babies. There is no way my DD would have stayed still in one once she could crawl. I have a rather bulky Mothercare one which has been great and had raised bassinet which I used up until 6 months or so. I have seen that Phil and Teds do a really lightweight travel cot which looks pretty good, think it was £100+ and it looked to fold much smaller than the usual ones. HTH.

We made our decision based on the fact that wew were likely to need to fly with it. (family in both Ireland and USA)

So we got a little life one (although not one of those - it was 5 years ago)

That said we've neve actually flown with it as family have always managed to be borrow steal one for us!!

The little life one still suits DD2 who's 2.2 although she now prefers a bed if we're away which is just becuase she likesto be like her sister

generally the top section zips off the tent type ones so they canstand up if required.

I'd imagine that if you had a vert physical toddler, they might be unsteady? But we've never hadthat problem

My ds loves his littlelife arc 2 tent. never had any problems with it at all and its so light and portable. i'd really recommend it. and its big too. much bigger than the mamas and papas travel cot his grandparents bought which he now can't fit into.

Thank you all! I will think on but good to know there aren't any obvious problems with the tent type ones.
